My thoughts are wth you, dearest Evva, and all the family. He was a truly dedicated father and grandfather and I was impressed how he used his retirement in unselfish ways. You made a very special couple who both traveled and gave of yourself to others. A wise and dedicated marriage of two extraordinary people. ...

I remember Carl with a lot of admiration, respect and friendship. I worked under him at Electric Boat for many years, but we also played golf together as well as bridge and hearts on occasion. Sometimes golf and hearts mixed together as Carl always initiated a hearts game at the annual EBAC golf banquet - it was always a highlight of the year. And Carl was the only person to ever hit me in the head with a driver! It was an accident as I was behind him when he took a practice backswing - but it really made an impression.
A truly great man and one I'm proud to call my friend, leader and mentor.
