Carol Dooley Obituary
Ms. Dooley was born and raised in The Bronx N.Y., and received her RN from St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan after graduating from high school. After marrying Joseph F. Dooley Jr., also from The Bronx, and moving to Waterford, Ms. Dooley went on to obtain her B.A. from Eastern Connecticut State University and her MSW from the University of Connecticut.
Ms. Dooley, a devoted mother and grandmother, and always passionate about helping others, worked for years as a therapist at Backus Hospital in Norwich and in a private practice. She was an active participant at St. James Church in New London.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph F. Dooley III of Waterford, and Kenneth M. Dooley of Waterford; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Dooley of Waterford.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at St. James Church, 76 Federal Street, New London. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London.

My very deepest condolences to Carol´s family and friends. She was a wonderful therapist whom I had come to during a difficult time in my life. She helped me tremendously and truly cared about the wellbeing of her patients. May she rest in peace.

Carol was a dear friend for over 30 years. I had the pleasure of working with her for 26 years at Backus hospital. I always admired this wonderful, good natured, sophisticated and humerus woman. I miss her terribly. May you now rest in peace Carol.

Carol was a treasured friend of 30+ years and a most wonderful coworker of mine for 26 years working together at Backus. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was a true friend and very sophisticated lady. I loved her very much and have been missing her for years.

I worked with Carol for many years. She has crossed my mind many times since I retired ten years ago. I have so much respect for her and remember her as a kind, caring person with a good sense of humor. It was a privilege to know her. I send my condolences to her family.
