David was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., May 28, 1947, the son of Anthony and Helen Clark Bono.

He was a 1965 graduate of St. Bernard High School in New London. While there, he was a standout football player earning All-Conference and All-Area in his senior year.

Dave enjoyed traveling, reading, rooting for the New York Giants, a good barbecue with his special ribs, and having a beer with his many friends. He also liked to engage in lively conversations about politics, the economy, and sports. He spent the winters in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. where he enjoyed spending time at the beach. For many years, he raised rabbits and was a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert (Doreen) Bono of Waterford, William (Sharon) Bono of Quaker Hill; two sisters, Nancy Bono of New London, Susan Noonan of Mystic; nieces and nephews, Inda Watrous, Michael, Robert, Jaclyn, and Lisa Bono, Kathleen and Elizabeth Noonan, Jordan Bono; and several great-nephews and a great-niece.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Cecily Athenian for her love and care.
