Dorothy Roberts Obituary
She was a lifelong resident of Stafford Springs, born to Joseph and Paolina Piccin April 13, 1923. She was a loving mother and leaves her three children, Paula Vail-Gerard and her husband Douglas Gerard, Jeffrey Roberts and his wife Luanna Roberts, and Anne Roberts-Pierson and her husband Raymond Pierson. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jeremy Vail and his wife Kim, Matthew Vail and his wife Jennifer, and Tyler, Joshua, and Joslyn Roberts; four great-grandchildren, Addison and Abraham Vail, Sierra Gibson, and Jace Copening; a step-grandchild, Keith Ricci; two step great-great-grandchildren, Simone and Serena; as well as several nieces and nephews and even grand-nieces.
Dorothy was a graduate of Stafford High School and the Eastman School of Dental Hygiene. She was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II in San Diego, Calif. She was honored by the Governor this year as one of the few surviving veterans in the State of Connecticut. Dorothy spent her life in Stafford Springs and worked for a local dentist, Dr. Bulick for many years. She was also a member of St. Edward Church in Stafford Springs.
Many thanks to the staff at Evergreen Health Center in Stafford Springs, where Dorothy has resided since 2023 for the wonderful care they provided for her.
A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to The National WWII Museum (in New Orleans, LA) at www.nationalww2museum.org.
