Edward Corrigan Obituary

North Stonington - Edward Joseph "Ed" Corrigan was born in the Bronx, New York City on Sept. 2, 1935, to parents, Edward Joseph and Florence (Moran) Corrigan. Ed passed away quietly at home Oct. 10, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.

He was the first-born of four children, and had two brothers, Jackie, and Robert and one sister Florence Eileen. After completing high school in Long Island, Ed joined the Air Force and was sent to Texas as an aircraft mechanic. He flew his true love, Margaret "Peg" Dugan from Manhattan, down to Texas for their wedding on Oct. 20, 1956. They remained happily married and devoted partners for the remainder of their lives.

Ed and Peg had four children, Laura Corrigan, Deborah Armstrong who married Joel Armstrong , Edward Corrigan and finally William Corrigan who married Wendy (Bresnan) Corrigan. He is survived by nine grandchildren, Adam Collins, David Corrigan, Zachary Corrigan, Riley Neel, Haley Corrigan, Corbin Corrigan, Garrett Armstrong, Aidan Armstrong and Valentina Corrigan and four great-grandchildren, Lucas and Kyle Collins and Jack and Reid Corrigan.

They bought an old farm in North Stonington, where they raised their family and where they lived for 50-plus years. Ed was a completely devoted caregiver during the past few years of Peg's life and really missed her when she passed away in March 2021. He joined her Oct. 10th. Both will have their ashes spread beneath a tree in symbol of their love for each other.
