Edward Robert "Bob" Sisk

1933 - 2021

East Lyme - Edward Robert "Bob" Sisk, 88, of Niantic died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at home.

Bob was born in New London, Feb. 9, 1933, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Sisk. He was predeceased by his loving and cherished wife, Lorraine Iversen Sisk in 2015.

Bob leaves behind six children and their spouses, Stephen and Nellie Sisk of Waterford, Keith and Paivi Sisk of Toreboda, Sweden, Paul and Sherri Sisk of Carlsbad, Calif., Lynn and David Monahan of Waterford, Michelle and Adam Briasco of Niantic, Glenn and Jill Sisk of Niantic; also, sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Bob was predeceased by four siblings, Thomas, James, Dorothy and Elizabeth.

Bob was a veteran. He served in the army and was honorably discharged.

In his youth, Bob often helped out at his father's pharmacy. He first met Lorraine when he gave her an ice cream there. She became the love of his life, and they were married for 60 years. Bob and Lorraine built a loving home in Niantic, a town they dearly cherished. Bob was very proud of his family, extended family, including nephews and nieces and always spoke lovingly about them.

Bob loved to talk and joke. He had many friends in the community and at work. Bob had been employed as a locomotive engineer at Electric Boat and retired in 1988.

In 1992, Bob became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He died confident in Jehovah God's promises of His Kingdom and his resurrection hope.

In later years, you could often find him sitting on the front porch watching his neighbors come and go out of Attawan and Old Black Point. Or, sitting on the back porch watching the squirrels and birds. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, reminiscing about family and friends. He was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and enjoyed watching the Mets, Giants, Rangers, Knicks and UConn women's basketball games with his family. He found a lot of satisfaction in a good cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee and a Klondike bar. Bob loved to take long drives thru Niantic, New London, Norwich, Groton and Stonington with his children. He will be fondly remembered for preferring the back roads over the highways.

There will be a private burial Sept. 18, 2021. A Zoom Memorial will be held at a later date.
