Francis Donahue Obituary

New Bern, N.C. - Francis Gerald Donahue, 84, of 113 Oakmont Circle, New Bern, N.C., formerly of Old Lyme, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2017, at Crystal Coast Hospice, Newport, N.C.

He requested a private service. Burial will be at Duck River Cemetery in Old Lyme.

Frank served in the U.S. Navy and earned the National Defense Service Medal. Frank relocated to New Bern 24 years ago after retirement from Northeast Utilities as a nuclear plant maintenance supervisor. He is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and 3rd degree Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Donahue of New Bern, N.C.; one son, Frank Scott Donahue of Mystic; two daughters, Barbara Berman of Old Saybrook and Susan Donahue of Brookline, Mass.; stepchildren, Spencer Williams Jr. of Niantic and Meredith Klein of Hudson, Fla.; one sister, Mary Muldoon of Silver Spring, Md.; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Amyloidosis Foundation @ www.amyloidosis.org.
