Franklin Mitchell Obituary

Mystic - Franklin E. Mitchell, 66, of Mystic, formerly of Groton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014.

Born in New London, he was the son of the late George and Iva (Rackett) Mitchell.

Franklin worked in the restaurant business for many years at the Harbor View Restaurant in Stonington.

He is survived by his two siblings, Allyson Mitchell and his wife, Rebecca, of Stonington and Verna Young of Stonington, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Francis T. Mitchell.

Franklin was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time with his family.

A special thank you is extended to the staff at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, for the care and comfort given to Franklin during his illness.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. There are no calling hours.
