Gregory Rice Obituary

Nov. 12, 1961 - Oct. 29, 2024

Waterford - In late October of 2024 we unexpectedly lost our dear friend and family member Greg.

Greg followed his father as master carpenter and was a lifelong member of the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters. He helped build a few of our local landmarks, Foxwoods, The Crystal Mall, and Mystic Seaport.

He was the type that kept to himself, but he would start up if his favorite topics came up, The Mets, NASCAR or football. Greg was known by his friends for throwing amazing parties at his home. Greg had an incredible love of music. He created many homemade music playlists and gave himself the record label of R.R.R INC.

Greg was predeceased by his sister, Patricia (Rice) Staples; both his parents, Angela and Carl Rice. Greg was survived by his two brothers, Steven and James; along with many nephews and nieces.

Although we lost Greg too soon, We know that he is at peace joining the greatest love of his life, his late wife Christine (Jordan) Rice. They spent their days together traveling New England, loving a pack of cats, and making art.

In celebration of life, we invite you to Greg's after party. For more information email: [email protected]

All that we ask you to give is warm memories and good stories about our buddy Greg.

Greg was my younger brother and when he was young I took care of him on occasions. We had a close bond through our lives. We shared many great time together. We would call and talk often over the years and I miss those calls very much. I miss my brother very muck.

I met Greg through Lou Hyatt while talking with the guys at the Konomoc Grange Corner. Those were some great days, everybody talking freely and laughing. We were all young then, and while I didn't know Greg well, he was well thought of by others who knew him. He always had a smile and a good word for those he knew. Rest easy Greg.
