Herbert Eldridge Obituary
He was born April 18, 1950, in New London, the son of Herbert Eldridge Jr. and Ethel (Myers) Eldridge. He was the husband of Dianna (Smith) Eldridge who survives him.
Herb was a graduate of Waterford High School and was retired from the Waterford Police Department. After retiring from Waterford, he was employed as a policeman at the Mohegan Sun Tribal Police Department. He later worked for the Secor Automotive Group till shortly before his passing.
He was a longtime member of the Benevolent Lodge of Elks #360 in New London and a member of the Interstate Police Officers Association. A car enthusiast, Herb belonged to the Dream Machine Car Club and attended numerous car shows. He had owned several antique cars.
In addition to his wife, Dianna; he is survived by two sons, Andrew Eldridge of Montville and David Eldridge and his partner, Denise Loomis, of Jewett City; a brother, Richard of Waterford; and two grandchildren, Madison and Mariah Eldridge.
He was predeceased by his father, Herbert Eldridge Jr.; and earlier this month by his mother, Ethel (Myers) Eldridge.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours.

So sorry for your loss. May all those happy and joyful memories help you during this very difficult time.
To our dear friend, Herb all those happy memories we have since our teenage years, whether is was school, proms, fixing and building our cars, double dating, our weddings, hanging out at our favorite spots, joining the Elks together, celebrating our birthdays only a couple of days apart, and the births of our children and then watching our children and grandchildren grown. You were known and respected to our children as Uncle, because of that great and long friendship and also by our extended families. You will be truly missed by all of us who had the great pleasure and honor of truly knowing you Herb. You were always there and did so much to help all of us whether it was in the middle of the night or during the day you were there and helped everyone in such a positive way. RIP our dear friend, Herb, until be meet again. We Love You!!!

Diane,ANdrew,and David, I am deeply sorry about Herb's death. I wanted to be with you today, to say goodbye, to him, but just not able to be there after my recent hip surgery.
