Jacquelyn "Jackie" Rohrberg

Old Lyme - Jacquelyn "Jackie" Rohrberg, at the age of 88 with her loving family at her side, made her journey to be with the love of her life Carl A. who she married May 4, 1957; also preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Louis Nash; brother Oliver and his wife Helen Nash; and step grandson Kyle Fortin.

Jackie earned her RN degree in 1955 at the Yale New Haven Nursing School and worked in the Lyme-Old Lyme school system as the school nurse for twenty years before retiring in 1994. She also volunteered as a EMT for the Old Lyme Ambulance Association for several years.

In her retirement years she enjoyed lots of travelling with Carl, and with family and friends. She volunteered her time and energy with different organizations and by supporting friends and neighbors in need. She enjoyed all kinds of handy work such as knitting over 350 dolls for the "Mother Bear Project" who sent these dolls to orphanages in Africa who are caring for children suffering from HIV and abandonment.

In her later years she took care of birds and plants around her apartment while spending lots of time with her house buddy's cats Biff and Scarlet.

She is survived by her wonderful family: son Carl W of Easthampton, Mass., son Mark and wife Jaime of Old Lyme, son Jeffery and wife Anne of Westbrook; grandsons Ethan and Seth Rohrberg; step grandson Elijah Fortin; and a great group of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
