Very sad news. A wonderful and most likable guy. I met Jim in 1959, the year before he graduated THS. His neighbor on Johnson Street, John Czausz, worked for us at the Clover Dairy during summer break and Jim would stop into our ice cream bar occasionally to wait for John to finish out his day and we'd go places He was lots of fun to be around. My former wife, Susan Goldman, graduated from New London High School with Lana. She sends her condolences as well. I will always remember "BLIMP", an endearing name that he inherited from his friends. My deepest condolences to Lana, his children, his extended family and friends. R.I.P.- JIM

Jim was much more than "just an economics major" as he liked to say and I had the good fortune and pleasure to work with Jim for several years and call him a friend for even longer.
Good fortune because he was extremely knowledgeable and quick to share his knowledge and mentor me and others. His airline customers also loved Jim because he could often accomplish the impossible and get those elusive spare parts they needed.
Pleasureable because he was just a fun guy to be around and eagerly shared his joy of fishing, sports, gardening, his family's accomplishments and many other interests. Lesley and I were a couple of the lucky friends mentioned that shared time with Jim & Lana, including his 70th birthday in Marathon, Fla. and annual vacations in Holden Beach, NC where they were gracious and welcoming hosts. And where Jim would look at the vacation communal jigsaw puzzle and insert the elusive piece that had completion on hold.
Jim we had planned another visit and chat. I'll look forward to it when I get there. BTW put in a good word for me as I'll probably need your help. Again!
