Dear Linda, Pat & Mike: My sincere sympathy in the loss of your Dad. They were such an enormous part of my Dad and Moms life; in the Navy and socially. I am sorry we did not know about this until today, as we do not get the New London Day. We certainly would have been at his funeral. It is such a tremendous loss when you loose a Dad. We are all still dealing with our Dad's. What a great picture. We all have so many memories from the early 50's till now, wow, we could write a book. Our love to you all, and know that you are all in our prayers. Anne Marie and Richie Canova

Dear Linda, Pat & Mike:
Your Dad was one of my USS Bumper (SS-333) shipmates. John & Jean attended a number of our reunions and we were good friends. He is now on his eternal cruise and I will be happy to see him in heaven. Sorry I can't be at the funeral. My prayers are with you. Ed Stone, Syracuse, NY

I never knew John, however reading about his passing and the many things he enjoyed during his life I could have been on the same page. I loved gardening, I'm a Navy Vet and a disabeled on at that and like John I enjoyed St Johns and many other Caribbean destinations. As for being a friend of Bobby Lamb, Bob and I did our best to keep taxes down in Ledyard.
So from my Winter home in Florida allow me to salute "The Chief" and join his family in this moment of grief.
