John Street Obituary
He was born on Sept. 16, 1944 to the late Harold A. and Mary (Carino) Street.
John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by CBT/Bank of New England for many years followed by 20 plus years of service at Waterford WalMart. He was an extremely kind and generous man who truly enjoyed driving the scenic roads of Connecticut, hanging out with his family and spending time at the Mohegan Sun. John loved collecting coins and lighthouse figurines and spoiling the family pets, especially his cat, MooMoo.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Robert P. Street.
He is survived by his son, John Thomas Street II, and his husband, John Mark Dunwoody, of North Carolina; his daughters, Jennifer Street-Florek, her husband, Brian, and their daughter, Julia, of Waterford and Emily Street-Perkins and her husband, Phillip, of Union; and beloved friend, Amy Saulnier of Vernon.
Please join us for a gathering in celebration of John's life at 1 p.m. Sept. 16, 2018, near the covered boardwalk section of Ocean Beach in New London.
The family would be honored by donations in John's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society-Connecticut Chapter, 659 Tower Ave, First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112.

We were all so saddened to hear of your fathers passing. He was such an amazing, generous and kind man. It's very rare in life you come upon such a kind and thoughtful person and you could just look in his eyes and see he was that person. He would just show up to his podiatrist office to say hi to me and bring Sadie(our office black lab) bones/treats! He will definitely be missed by all! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. For years he would stop by the Police Department when I worked there just to say hi. I got to know him well from there, then years later we worked together at Walmart. There was no nicer person. Emily, I remember your Dad taking you with him on Black Friday every year and I watched how you both enjoyed each other. He always smiled, even on the bad days.

To John's Family: John Street was a much valued person at CBT. As one colleague has said, he ran the branch as if it were his own company. We in the CBT family are mourning his passing with you. He was extremely well liked and an integral player at CBT, which to this day is like an extended family for those of us who worked there.
We are very sorry for this loss and offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. He was a good man, a good banker, and a great colleague.
