Even though Joe is gone
his memory still remains in our hearts.
His smile and face will never fade.
We think of him as we go on each day.
The good times we cherish
and the days spent together
will be in our memories forever.
He's in a better place.
His heart was right with God.
So Joey we love you
and we miss you so much
but we know you're much happier.
So watch over us and make sure we're okay
and we will see you again soon.

To the Hobert Family,

The Hobert's and Bresnahan's came over together on the same boat from Castle-Gregory, County Kerry, Ireland.

I have very fond memories of the Hobert's back in the 60's. Our families were members of the Holyoke Canoe Club. Mr. and Mrs. Hobert, Joey, Johnny, and Danny hanging out by the pool rough-housing. The very best of times! I heard the news Easter Sunday Weekend. I'm very sorry to hear this. Thoughts and prayers are with the Hobert's and Moriarty's.

To all of Joey's friends - Thank you so much for all of your kind words and prayers. Joey loved life and loved to make people laugh. His one-liners will live on forever in my mind. Reading these posts are helping me to remember what a fun, wonderful, and witty person Joey was. I am sure he and Ricky are giddy with excitement at having each other to hang out and laugh with, and cracking jokes about all of us! Peace and love to all! xoxo

Johnny
Like when DR passed away, Joey's passing is completely surreal to me. I can only imagine that the two of them are cracking up as they're holed up in an apartment somewhere as part of an elaborate prank that DR has talked Joey into. I have to think that they're going to pop out of nowhere someday saying "Shut up, grub! Of course we're not dead!" Because, in my mind, Joey and DR never will be.
Johnny, take comfort in memories and laughter. In reading through other postings about Joey, he certainly gave that to others. We'll catch up on Wednesday. Hang in there kid.

"Genuine" is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Joey. I believe it is the perfect word to describe him. He was, simply, the most genuine person I have probably ever known, and I can not express that sincerely enough. It is a quality that is usually underestimated, but Joey had it all day long. I will miss him.

I grew up with Joe and the Hoberts at Groton Long Point. I can see everyone right now stuffed in the station wagon on a cool summers night, headed to the movies or go carts. Back in Holyoke, I remember the rule was-Last one to finish the milk had to fill the pitcher... they would all sit waiting to see who got stuck with the chore. I feel forever fortunate to have seen him for his 50th birthday...
