Joe was my supervisor for many years at the New London Clinic. He was inspiring, fair, funny , somewhat of a prankster and I held the utmost respect for him. The clinic wasn’t the same after he retired and he was missed by staff as well as the clients. My heart goes out to Anne and family as I know he will surely be missed by many.

If they were to construct a Mount Rushmore onboard the Submarine Base in Groton, Master Chief Joe Pow, would be a member. His dedication to his Country, The Submarine Force and its' Sailors was second to none. Thirty Two years of Honorable Active Duty Service in which he demonstrated outstanding performance and literally hundreds of Sailors have Joe Pow to thank for his leadership and Fatherly guidance. He selflessly gave back to his Sailors through his 4 decades of providing Intramural Athletics onboard the Submarine Base. His endless love for his Bride of 65 years, Ann, was one to marvel. My absolute deepest sympathy to Ann and the entire Pow Family. May the Good Lord's Angels welcome Joe to Paradise. You will be greatly missed Joe, but your Legacy will last for eternity. Rest in Peace Shipmate.....we have the Watch.

I remember Joe quite fondly. I was a client at the Hartford Dispensary off & on for many years during his time in Norwich & then New London . I would also run into him at Stop & Shop in East Lyme . I always thought very highly of him. He was a kind, caring & considerate man. I am so very sorry for your loss. He will forever be a part of my heart & my mind. So sad to say, but they truly don't make 'em like Joe anymore. Treasure your memories & the man that he was. Thank you for sharing him with us.
Sincerely,
