Kevin Phillip Duerr

1982 - 2023

New London - On Feb. 16, 2023, Kevin Phillip Duerr of 34 Garfield Street, New London, was taken from us, unexpectedly, after a short illness. Kevin leaves his parents, Linda Carter of New London, and John Duerr of Baltic. He also leaves his brother Christopher Duerr and his wife Kaeley Duerr of Norwich; and many other extended family members. This includes Carol and Richard Whitham of Griswold and Dianne Cater of New London.

Kevin was the father of four boys, whom he loved without limits: Aiden, 22, Landon, 16, Daxton, 4, and Hudson, 22 months. His love for his boys was one of his greatest strengths. He was great baseball dad. He juggled Landon's base all schedule and never missed a game or practice. Kevin and Landon were on the road to baseball tournaments from April to October, traveling over the entire East Coast. His greatest hope was that Landon would earn a spot on a college baseball team. He was a calming influence on Daxton. His youngest, Hudson, made him smile from ear-to-ear just watching him grow. He was happiest when he was with his boys.

Kevin loved all vehicles, any vehicles, cars, trucks, ATVs, and motorcycles of all makes and models. He was a motocross racer and never lost his love for the sport. He was raised riding his ATV or dirt bike in the woods at his dad's home in Baltic. He also loved to ski and snowboard. Stratton Mountain and Sunday River were his favorite places to ski. He loved to travel, anywhere, anytime. Planning a trip, packing a bag and traveling to Disney in Florida or to baseball tournaments gave him great pleasure.

Kevin worked as a painter/wall paperer with his dad for many years. He learned his trade from his dad. In the past several years Kevin established his own business and was very proud of this. Kevin loved tools, all tools and all gadgets. He was always researching new trends and equipment. He knew the best baseball glove, the best bat, the best phone, the best sander and so forth, and shared everything with his son Landon.

Kevin was quiet man, a private person, who never wasted words. He had a dry sense of humor and a grin that said it all, with no words needed. While not religious, he was spiritual and believed that our journey does not end when we leave our bodies. His loss to his family is felt deeply; and he is missed every minute of every day.
