Kristen "Krisie" Tine

New London - Kristen Tine, 67, lovingly known as "Krisie" to her friends and family, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Hartford, Krisie grew up in Montville and graduated from Montville High School prior to moving to New London for the remainder of her years. She faced multiple life-threatening illnesses in her later years, inspiring others with her remarkable resilience.

Kristen was predeceased by her parents, Geraldine (Galvin) and Paul Tine; her brother Paul Tine; and her nephew Seth Tine. She is survived by her siblings: Dean Tine, James (Isabella) Tine, Shaun (Kathy) Tine, Colleen (Don) Nieto and Scout Dellamia; her beloved aunts, JoAnn and Ann, with whom she was especially close; as well as her cherished nieces, nephews, and their families.

A dedicated volunteer, Krisie gave over ten years of service to the Garde Arts Center in New London. She adored her two cats, Fluffy and Angel, who held a special place in her heart. After years of following Richard Simmons' diet plan, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by meeting him in person on a seven-day cruise in 2006, and again in 2007.

The Tine family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for their attentive care and kindness over the years. They also wish to express sincere gratitude to the caregivers from Almost Family, who provided tireless love, support and companionship to Kris in her final years.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kristen's memory may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society or Protectors of Animals. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
