Marc was truly an amazing person. He was one of the very first clients to place his trust in my brokerage, encouraging my growth and giving me a chance when few others would. During our appointments, he often shared stories about his love for playing guitar and his passion for helping others. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on me, and I know he touched the lives of many. Marc spoke often and with deep affection about his wife, whom he admired greatly. He will be deeply missed.

I had the privilege to work with Marc as the Academic Dean and then as President at Mitchell College. I will always remember Marc for his wonderful sense of humor, gifted teacher, fellow colleague and someone who cared about students and how they were learning. His dedication and commitment to Mitchell College for 57 years is legendary. He was a consummate professional and a kind, caring person. He will be missed, but he will not be forgotten.

Marc hired me for my first academic job, and we became fast friends by sharing laughs in his incredibly messy office. Marc didn't have a scintilla of arrogance or snobbishness in his being, despite his prodigious talents. He was a teddy bear of a man and a wonderful mentor to many. I will miss you, Marc.

Marc and Terri were 2 of the first people that we met at Temple Emanu-el when we joined 17 years ago. They immediately helped us feel at home like we had been friends for years. Marc was always an amazing musician and story teller and I treasured talking to him and hearing stories from the past including about famous musicians or his cousin who played professional baseball I think for the Yankees. When he played music with the temple band or at the cabaret it was effortless and awesome. We are glad that he is reunited with his love Terri, it was devastating to him when she passed way too soon. We were happy that he was at the 1st annual Terri Goldsmith golf tournament this summer and got to share and hear the stories and memories of Terri. May his memory be a blessing and sending deepest condolences to his family.

I remember my son appreciating relatable life discussions with Marc, beyond engaging material he taught at Temple Emanu-El Religious School. As one of the teachers working there while he was co-school administrator there, I had so much respect for a busy college professor who generously donated his time to help ensure the moral grounding of our religious school kids. At our Temple´s annual Cabaret fundraising events, our audiences had the pleasure of watching him effortlessly sing and play guitar solos that warmed everyone´s heart. Marc, we will miss you at Temple but we are comforted knowing you and Terri are together again in the spiritual realm. Thanks for all the insightful talks, the witty jokes, and your concern for others.

I had Prof Goldsmith `95-97 and what I remember most was his way of being in the world. There was an excitable ease in the way he taught that felt accessible and admirable. My condolences to his family.

Although I initially transferred from a different college middle of freshman year I had Marc Goldsmith´s classes all four years I was in Mitchell college leading up to his last year there(2023). I sometimes struggled with what I had to do with his classes and he helped me out all the while took time to understand who I really am. I remember graduation around 2023 I told him how much I was gonna miss him and thanked him so much for everything those 4 years I had with him. I´m eternally grateful for his contributions to the school and send my deepest condolences to his family members.

Marc was my wonderful freshman American Literature instructor during the 1969-70 Mitchell College school year.
His teaching inspired my interest in a wide range of writings, which I mentioned in a congratulatory note to him upon his 2023 retirement.
Marc was the ideal guy for those turbulent late `60s-early `70s years ... hip enough to be admired by this rebellious student, and dedicated enough to his subject matter to ensure my attention then ... and until today!
Marc Goldsmith was one of those professors I remember and thank, for enriching the rest of my life.
Best wishes and my condolences to Marc´s family and friends,

Mr. Goldsmith was my very first professor at Mitchell College, and I´ll never forget walking into his class feeling so nervous. Marc had a way of making everyone feel comfortable right away. His sense of humor could lighten any moment, and yet he always kept us focused and engaged. With his mellow presence and calm patience, learning felt natural and never intimidating. What I´ll always remember most is how supportive he was - he believed in his students, even when we didn´t believe in ourselves. That kind of encouragement stays with you long after the class ends. I´m deeply grateful to have had him as my first professor.
Years later, I had the joy of meeting his wife, Terri, when I worked with her at Talbots. It actually took me a little while to put two and two together and realize she was Marc´s wife - but once I did, I was thrilled. After leaving Talbots, we would often run into each other at Mitchell Beach, and both Marc and Terri always got such a kick out of my husband Cristian (who also went to Mitchell) and our three girls. Terri and I stayed in touch often, and she was such a huge support to Cristian and me, especially when we learned about our youngest daughter´s heart condition. I was so sad when she passed, and I still think of her often. But it brings me comfort now to know that Marc and Terri are together again, making each other laugh, just as they always did.

I was truly saddened to hear about the loss of an amazing individual. I worked with Marc as a teacher at Temple Emanu-El for many years. He was one of those special people that one is blessed to know in a lifetime. I always enjoyed our chats about life, love, and the art of communication. He touched so many people from various backgrounds...an amazing individual.
Marc is now reunited with Terri...knowing them both made me and the rest of us all better people.
Rest in peace friend...

Professor Goldsmith was a fantastic professor when I had him at Mitchell College. I enjoyed Comm & Conflict and Persuasion Class during the 2020-2021 semester. We developed a close friendship during that time at the college. I knew Goldsmith as a mentor, role model, and a good person who enjoyed our conversations in class. He and I had a close friendship until I graduated. May he rest in sweet peace.
