Dear Douglass Family,
I am just hearing of the loss of dear Marilyn. I wanted you to know that she was the sweetest person and I was blessed to correspond with her these past 10 years. My father John Oscar Boobar died in 2012 and she reached out to me as he was a cousin through his mother - my grandmother - Ruth Hanson Boobar. From what I know they were 1st cousins. Marilyn's mother Ruth and my great grandmother Hannah LeVine Hanson were sisters. Marilyn sent me the nicest notes and cards the past 10 years and we always corresponded at Christmas with cards. She even shared some sweet stories and photos of my dad and his twin sister and the other siblings from when they were little. She told me how thrilled she was to have twin cousins! I have kept every note/card she has sent me. She was so special to me and I am sad I was never able to meet her in person. I just wanted you to know she made an indelible mark on my heart. Sending love and thoughts to your family.

I was Marilyn´s hairstylist for many years. We met at the Navy Exchange Salon and she followed me to my own salon after I retired. I loved listening to her stories of the old days. She and her husband were a perfect example of true love and devotion to each other. May she Rest In Peace.

Authenticity, warmth and one of the few women of her time who could carry off a boy's name with confidence. Jim and Mac were loving, supportive friends when our young family needed it most. Hearts and prayers to Mac, Jeff and John.

I am so saddened to hear this. Mrs. and Mr. Douglass were a great influence for me, from West Side, through High School and College. Mrs Douglass help with my grandmother in Hospice as well and made me the best sandwiches for lunch during the many, many hours of yardwork and painting I did for them. I am glad she had a long, wonderful and positive life. My wholehearted sympathy goes out for Mr Douglass also.
