Marjorie Guidera Creaturo

1932 - 2019

Stonington -Marjorie Ann Kleindienst Guidera Creaturo, born Jan. 12, 1932, died peacefully at Fairview Nursing home, having spent the day in the company of all her six children Feb. 3, 2019, at the age of 87.

Marjorie was born to father, Alfred Kleindienst, who emigrated from Austria and despite only having attained a sixth grade education, was founder and former owner of Radio Station WORC in Worcester (now Providence). He was also an inventor and entrepreneur. Her mother, Alice Joslin Kleindienst, was a homemaker, whose genealogy included a general in the Revolutionary War and roots going back to the Mayflower Colony. The family lived at Beacon Park on Webster Lake at the very site where Native Americans originally declared the name of the Lake to be " Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg" which meant "You fish on your side, we'll fish on our side and nobody fishes in the middle."

Marjorie took great pride in raising her six children, mostly in Stonington. She was a talented and published artist who studied under William Schultz, Robert Brackman, Herman Itchkawitch and others.

Marjorie leaves behind her children and their families: Robert and Sharon Guidera, Amy and Paul Tasca, Timothy and Pamela Guidera, Laura Paige and her late husband Donald Paige, Andrew and Bethany Harris, Oliver and Jocelyn Harris, Michael and Eva Guidera, Maeve Guidera, Brigid Guidera, Christopher and Ann Guidera, Jorden Guidera, Nicholas Guidera, Madison Guidera, Jessica Hintze, and Devin and Laura Hintze, Marjorie also leaves her lifelong best friend Judy Edgecomb.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at St. Mary's Church in Stonington
