Mark Janssen Obituary


New London - Mark Scott Janssen, of New London, passed away Nov. 2, 2024, at the Veterans Affairs Health Care Center in Rocky Hill after a long illness. Mark was the son of the late Virgil and Ruth Janssen. He was married to Barbara Wunder Janssen, the love of his life, for 43 years.
He also leaves behind a daughter, Nicole Hicks; and grandchildren, Jordyn and Jason; three brothers, Donald (Terri), Jeffrey (Doreen) and Christopher Janssen; and sister Veronica Janssen; and many nieces and nephews.
Mark served in the U.S. Navy and held many prominent positions throughout his life.
Mark will be laid to rest at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter R.I., with full Military Honors. Arrangements are entrusted to Monarch Cremation & Funeral Services, Hamden.
