Matthew Urban Obituary
Matt was the beloved son of Rudolph and Shirley (Gentile) Urban of Chester. He was born in Middletown, on Aug. 3, 1980. He was a member of the class of 1998, graduating from Valley Regional High School in Deep River. Matt was employed at Shop-Rite in Clinton and had worked in the produce department and, most recently, was very involved in computer generated ordering and customer service. He was a man very much on the move and concerned with others. He will be remembered as always being there to help and lend a helping hand to those in need.
Matt was an avid Boston Red Sox and Detroit Red Wings fan, and he loved to bike and hike. He had a great love of photography and cameras and was extremely proud of his vegan lifestyle.
Besides his parents, he leaves his brothers, Dana M. Urban of Killingworth, and Jake T. Urban of Chester; his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Cheroyl Gentile of Jamestown, R.I.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 18, at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, at St. Joseph's Church, 48 Middlesex Ave., Chester. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Matt's name to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech. Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

To Matty's family- words can not express how sorry I am for your loss. Matty has always been like a part of my own family, and the closest I ever had to a big brother. I can't imagine life without him. He will never be forgotten.

Matt was a great person in so many ways..I became friends with him when he came to work at the carnival a few years back and it was the greatest of times..but while the carnival was on break Matt would come to Bristol and hang out with me and we went to concerts and just had a good time..I can't say enough for how much ima miss him...R.I.P Matt ill always love and miss you more then u know...

My thoughts and prayers are with Matts family, friends and co workers. I had the pleasure or working with Matt and he was a very inspirational person. He was the most happy, upbeat, helpful and insightful person and his presence in shoprite will be deeply missed. I will say he lived more in his short life than most live their entire lives. He was an amazing soul. May he rest in peace and may his family try to find peace at this very difficult time.

Dear Urban Family,
I am saddend to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting your friendly son, Matt who was a great friend of my daughter,Crysta. I was blessed with lovely stories my daughter would share about your son Matt. She would tell me about the wonderful fun they would have together and his great spirit he had for life.
