Michele Tycz Obituary
Born in Brighton, Mass., Nov. 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Loretta Frances (Mahoney) Gill, and the loving wife of Joseph Tycz.
Michele grew up in Brighton and after high school worked for a short time as a bookkeeper until her marriage to Joseph. She then became a full-time mom to her two boys. Once her sons began college Michele decided to pursue her love for art and earned two degrees in Art Therapy and Fine Art. She became a prolific portraitist who shared her skill and love of art to help others, which echoed her loving character.
In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Tycz and Matthew Tycz; four grandchildren, Aleks, Benjamin, Caitlin, and Ella Tycz; brothers, Kevin and Steven Gill; and her nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Our Lady of the Lakes Church. Burial will be a later date. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Road, Uncasville.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St Vincent De Paul Place, 120 Cliff St, Norwich, CT 06360.

Michele and I grow up together on Beechcroft Street and walked to St. Columbkille School for many years. When we reconnect years later, I learned of her love of art and painting, and of course her family. In spite of her chronic pain, she lived a full life. I am grateful for her friendship and will miss her indomitable spirit. May she rest in peace.

I used to babysit for the boys when I was a young teenager, when Michele and Joe lived across the street from me on Trading Cove Dr. She was a wonderful mother to Matthew And Jeffrey. I am sending my deepest condolences to them. She will live in your hearts forever!
