Michelle Smith Obituary
Michelle was born July 16, 1963, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.
She was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Smith. She attended St. Joseph School and New London High School, she worked at SNET for many years as a service representative and excelled at her job.
Michelle was a very outgoing person and was the life of any party.
Michelle is survived by her loving son Hayden Hodge; brother James Smith Jr.; sister Doreen Collins, both of Norwich; and brother-in-law Tom Jackson of East Lyme. She was predeceased by her sister Beverly Jackson; and brother Gary Smith. She leaves behind nieces, Temika Graham and Garynn Jackson; and nephews, Christopher Holloman, Norman Collins III and James Smith III; a great-niece Ava; great-nephews, Cameron, Trey, and Carter Collins; and many cousins in Massachusetts.
Michelle's life will be celebrated at a later date. A special thanks to Hartford Healthcare nurse Katherine, social worker Rob and all the kindest people that made her last months comfortable.

Oh my funny Michelle Smitty! The memories I have will never go away. So many laughs over many years. I remember our matching lockers where you had pics of Jim Rice and I had pics of Carlton Fisk... I´m not even going to incriminate ourselves by saying all of the questionable stuff we did that made the funnest times ever! I can picture your house in my mind like it was yesterday... your sweet quiet dad sitting in his chair in the living room reading the paper... your Mom in the kitchen.. and us making her laugh and the rest of the family in and around the house. And the music!! Always singing dancing! I hope you´re dancin your behind off, laughing and running and free and happy and smiling in the glow of God and Jesus! I know for sure Mrs Lillian and Mommy Pearl had a nice cup of tea ready for you to sit down and catch up with the rest of the family! Love ya girl.. I´ll see ya when I get there!
