Nancy Csisar Obituary

Mystic - Nancy Joan (Firth) Csisar, 84, of Mystic, died Aug. 5, 2025, with her family by her side. Born in Pawtucket, R.I. June 27, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Harold S. and Mary (D'Olivo) Firth.

She is survived by her loving husband, James G. Csisar of Mystic; a sister, Leila Mancini; her children, Jeffrey Csisar and Lynn C. W. Drake; son-in-law Bruce Drake; adopted son and wife, Kenneth and Ruth Towne; and her seven grandchildren: James, Jacqueline, Elizabeth, Shannon, Jeffery, Loren and Carolyn; and three great-grandchildren, Julian, Emerson and Deana.

Nancy and Jim lived a long love story in a marriage that lasted 62 years.

As a graduate of Newport Hospital School of Nursing, she dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a devoted wife and mother and a dedicated nurse both in her career, as well as to her family and friends.

She was always drawn to the ocean where she loved sailing and collecting seashells. She will be remembered for her many hobbies, but especially for knitting blankets and sweaters for her family.

Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were impacted by her wonderful life of caring! May she rest in peace!

So sorry for your loss. I worked with Nancy for a short while and remember her knitting in the supervisors office on her free time. Dedicated nurse and mentor. Godspeed.
