Noah and I met on the internet, on the music site Napster, in 1999. I was collecting the top 500 "most influential" rock songs, as compiled by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Noah jumped in to help round them up. The first 495 weren't so hard, but, the last five were like hen's teeth. For one of them (I think by the Dixie Hummingbirds) he sweet-talked a Swedish guy into digging the needed song out from his CD collection. The Swede was playing hard to get, but, in the end, Noah came through. Noah and I actually met up once, in Boston, a bit later, but we kept up often by email. So, so long, "The Tune Detective"!

Very sad loss of a kind and talented gentleman. I extend my Sympathy to Noah's Family. Noah will be missed for his creative talents, his smiles and his friendly welcoming greeting to all who entered the Playhouse. He was the Official Ambassador to greet everyone.
Then there was the Year I broke my leg! It was pouring rain, I came up the ramp on crutches to attend my Matinee Subscription performance. Noah opened the door to greet me in my raincoat with the hood, tied under my chin! He said, "Let me help you with that." He proceeded to untie the knot, helping me out of my drenched raincoat, as I leaned on the crutches. I don't know where he put the coat, but he had it waiting for me when it was time to leave! His kind gesture brought tears to my eyes then as it does now. Rest in peace, Noah.

I remember Noah and a generous kind person. I never heard an unkind word from Noah. He was always eager to help with any endeavor. Everything from picking up a Christmas tree, to lending equipment, to donating his time, skills and sound advice. His heart shinned brightest through his generosity. I will miss him dearly. My sincere condolences to his family.

Noah was such a light at Ivoryton and he always greeted me with a wink and a smile. Noah was one of the Ivoryton family members that made the space feel so warm and welcoming. I will always remember how he went the extra mile for me and encouraged me before each show. The joy that Noah brought to our lives will not be forgotten.

"NOAH!" was how I shouted out his name from the stage, in the same way ET The Extraterrestrial called out for his friend Elliot. And that's because both ET and I knew we could 100% rely on our friend to come to our aid, no matter how whacky things got. After just the first of what would become many visits I knew I could count on Noah to have my back and to counter my playful banter with more clever banter of his own. A true professional who's love of the theater, and theater people, was infectious. He will be missed. My sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones. NOAH!

Truly the passing of a legend and one of the most gentle, gigantic ones at the Ivoryton Playhouse that it's ever been my privilege to know and love! His presence at the theater can only be surpassed by his constant enduring presence in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched!!

I just started ushering at Ivoryton a couple of years ago. Noah served as House Manager the first four or five times I worked and so I came to associate ushering at Ivoryton with Noah. In fact, the first time I served with a different House Manager, it felt a bit odd; I missed Noah. He was a gentleman and, yes, a scholar. I wish I had known him better.

I knew Noah mostly during the 50's and 60's he was a dedicated and hard worker. Especially recall the only time that i was on a snowmobile . Noah took me on a brief ride in a field next to his home . He will be in my thoughts and Prayers as his son's George & Michael . Rest in Peace

One time when I went to the Ivoryton Theatre I locked my keys in the car.I returned to the theatre and asked Noah if there was a telephone I could use to call for help, He asked why and upon hearing my story he immediately offered to drive me home to recover an extra key. Ever after he always teased me about whether I had my keys - I got a big kick out of this and so we bonded. I shall miss him terribly, as will all the people who knew him. Rest in peace, Noah.

I was happy to have known Noah for the last 10 plus years.
We were both active in the holiday festivities here in Ivoryton.
We worked closely together to bring Santa down to the playhouse patio for all to enjoy.
When my crew and I would arrive to unload one of my manlifts in order to get it set up and ready for the next days events, Noah was always there to lend a hand.
In fact he made the sleigh and reindeer that mount to the basket. No surprise there.
Noah was also part of the local breakfast group in which we could all enjoy his stories from his past lives on his motorcycles, lumber trucks etc.
You will be missed Noah Rice.
My sincere condolences to his family.

My last visit to Ivoryton Playhouse, to see Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
Noah gave me a tour of their set and then took me back to the little scene shop and gave me a tour.
He showed me how his tablesaw could expand to accommodate larger constructions.
I was so privileged to get to know him over the 12 years or so that I new him. He was a very impressive person and I wish I could have learned more from him before his passing.
Sincerely and with great respect,
Jeffrey Schlichter

Noah was a very special person. He loved many and shared his knowledge freely. And he was knowledgeable about many topics. He taught me to usher and to House Manage at Ivoryton and appreciated home made goodies regularly. He was extremely be generous with his talents and stories. We shall miss our favorite curmudgeon, and remember him whenever we look out the windows he helped us install, or use the bookcase he built for us.
