Pamela Pack Obituary

Groton - Pamela (Clifford) Pack, 70, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, in her home peacefully.

Pam, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in Providence, R.I. on July 13, 1954, to the late Francis and Jane (Sullivan) Clifford. Pam lived in New London most of her early years and graduated from St. Bernards High School. She loved her work as a civilian for the U.S. Navy both near and far, stationed across the world at times but felt most at home in New England near those she loved. Pam was naturally gifted with energy, a very active person physically and adventurous in her travels, always trying new activities. She loved spending time with family and friends; quick to make new friends wherever she went.

Pam is predeceased by her sister Shiela Hobin. Pam is survived by her cherished daughter, Elizabeth Pack White and her husband Erik White and as Nana to two grandchildren, Sullivan and Charlotte White of Groton; her brother, Francis (Frank) Clifford and wife Jennifer of Westerly, R.I.; her four nephews, three great-nieces and four great-nephews and extended family whom she loved dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at St. Joseph Church, Squire Street, New London. Interment will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Avenue, New London. I first met Pam in 2006 in New London were we were having a meeting with Tim Smith and his supervisor and I said who is this energetic young lady that is telling them no you all are wrong. I bet you is this. I bet you is that and that´s how I begin to know Pam. She was a very energetic person as everyone said, She did love to travel. I remember when she first took her first trip to Europe and she enjoyed it. I converse with her over the time, I was a joy working with her.

Pam has been my friend since high school. We reconnected at our class reunion and had dinner monthly. We just celebrated our July birthdays on the 16th. Needless to say, I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear of her passing. Pam emulated love for Lizzy, Sully, and Charlotte. We both had traveled extensively and shared fond memories of Crete and Sicily. Pam was trustworthy, fun, smart and dedicated to what she loved. I will miss her.

We are shocked and saddened to learn of Pam´s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Pam from 2010 to 2011 at Naval Facilities Engineering Command Europe Africa and Southwest Asia in Naples Italy. She was a friendly and energetic person who was easy to get along with. Everyone enjoyed working with Pam. She was a self-starter and a most dedicated employee. Her efforts at NAVFACEURAFSWA were recognized by a Civilian Meritorious Service award. Pam became an expert in Public Works delivery of base operations in the European theater. After her tour at NAVFACEURAFSWA HQ she was also stationed at Souda Bay Crete and Sigonella Sicily. Pam was an enthusiastic traveler and was able to join my wife and I for a four-day Thanksgiving trip to Rabat, Morocco to visit our son and his wife in 2011. Our sincerest condolences to Pam´s daughter and the entire family. Al and Liz Bond.
