Paul Narducci Obituary

New London - Paul Frank Narducci, 85, formerly of Aitchison Drive, New London, entered eternal life on Thursday, March 29, 2012, in the comfort of his loving family.

He was born March 17, 1927, in New London, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Rogers) Narducci. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Bulkeley School, class of 1944. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. After being honorably discharged, he enrolled and graduated from Mitchell College. He was united in marriage to the former Caroline Mather on April 26, 1952, in New London. Mrs. Narducci died April 11, 2008. Mr. Narducci was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Band; he played beside his father for several years from 1951 until his retirement in 1975. In addition, he was employed for over 40 years at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division as a data processor, retiring in 1991. He owned and operated the Country Clean Laundromat in Groton for many years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a member of the New London Lodge of Elks No. 360 and Sons of Italy.

He was a gentle caring man, who never raised his voice. His family was his greatest pride and joy, as well as his motivation, and how he shared his spirit. He gave his time for special causes and charities. Paul cared about everyone around him and always had a smile on his face and a joke in his heart.

He is survived by four children and their spouses, Attorney Paul J. Narducci and Catherine Krenicky of Pawcatuck, Mary and Brian Renstrom of Wethersfield, Nancy and Tim Williamson of Medway, Mass., Jon and Amy Narducci of Norwich; and nine grandchildren, Patrick, Samantha, Grace, Mather, Matthew, Lily, Abigail, Jack and James.

He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Robert LaFrance.

His family is grateful for the care that he received at Fairview Convalescent Home. We are forever indebted to everyone at Academy Point for their kindness and compassion in his last years.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. The funeral will assemble at l0 a.m. Monday and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors.

Donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38173-9966.

Jon, Paul, Nancy and Mary,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Your dad was a great man. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. I have a lot of fond memories from the times I spent on Aitchison Dr. Your dad always made me feel like I was a part of your family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. I will never forget the letter jacket story. Just a small snippet of the kind of person he was. God bless you all.

Ouch! .....I will miss his jokes, smiles, sense of humor and his presence at Academy Point. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. RIP, Badabooch
