Paul Paulson Obituary

Groton - Paul "Buzz" Herman Paulson II, 83, of Groton, passed away Thursday morning, Nov.15, 2018, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his three children, Mary Blundell, Janet Preston and Paul Paulson III; as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Born in 1935, the youngest son of a dairy farmer, Buzz was raised in the beautiful hills of Paulson Farm in Groton. As a milkman, fate crossed his path with a visiting nanny from Scotland. The young couple exchanged vows in the fall of 1957 and settled down at Paulson Farm to raise their family. Together they celebrated nearly 61 years of devoted marriage, laying the foundation of a wonderful family that continues to grow today.

After his younger years of farming and delivering milk, Buzz joined the Army National Guard before being honorably discharged to settle into a career of truck driving.

As a member of the Teamsters he delivered for Hess (oil) Corporation making runs throughout New England. After 26 years of driving trucks, he worked for the Department of Education until he retired to spend his golden years with his beautiful wife Mary.

Buzz was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Whether as "Buzz," "Mr. Paulson" or "Pop," he is deeply missed by all who knew him.

He will be laid to rest according to his wishes at a small family service.

Dear Aunt Mary, Liz, Chris, Ashley, Lauren, Danny, Janet, Justin, Glenn, Paul, Peggy, Ken, Jen and the rest of the Paulson family and friends also . . .

Everyone loved My Uncle Buzz. Growing up on the Paulson farm, I never saw Uncle Buzz get angry over anything. He was one of the kindest humans beings that God created. And he had a wonderful sense of humor.

He also loved animals.

I know he will be one of my welcoming committee members when I arrive at the pearly gates to Heaven.

The same for each of his family members when they arrive also.

I love you Uncle Buzz and you'll always be part of my happy memories.

While we all share the loss of Uncle Buzz.it is the time to celebrate the life he lived. Growing up on the farm with him he was teacher, leader, and most of all role model for us kids. We learned the importance of getting the job done right and to get the hay in before the rain! Justin - he was the only guy I ever saw who was a better shot than me,you still have room to grow!
Celebrate a life well lived!
