Peter Anderson White

Old Saybrook - Peter Anderson White, a longtime resident of Old Saybrook, died Aug. 8, 2022, at the West Haven VA Medical Center after a long illness. He was 75. Peter was born in The Bronx, N.Y., to the late Jack and Katherine White nee Anderson.

He grew up in Darien, and graduated from Darien High School. Peter was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. He attended Middlesex College when he returned from Vietnam. Peter loved gardening and being outside in nature. He started his landscaping business, White's Yard and Lawn Works, in 1993, and worked hard to provide quality service to his customers. Peter really enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends, coffee and conversations, hiking at Rocky Neck State Park, water sports, the Long Island Sound, Connecticut River, and rides on his Kawasaki motorcycle.

Peter was predeceased by his brother Jack; and his partner Marie, whom he was devoted to for 30 years. He is survived by a daughter, her husband, and a granddaughter; and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Fountain Hill Cemetery, 57 High Street, Deep River.
