Ralph Boss Obituary
Born in Norwich at The William W. Backus Hospital on July 12, 1961, he was the son of Alva (Boss) Gardiner and Robert Gardiner.
Over the years, Ralph worked at Charbert's Mill, American Velvet Mill and various construction jobs, at one point having his own business.
He was an avid motorcycle rider, participating in many charity bike runs. He loved tattoos and had many of them. He also loved the ocean and sailing. Reading Dean Koontz and Stephen King was one of hundreds of passions of his. He liked barbecuing and cooking, and helped in soup kitchens around the holidays.
Ralph was a lifelong member of the Bradford Social Club, Bradford Citizens Club, and the Portuguese Club. He was an Eagle Scout of Troop 99.
In addition to his parents, he leaves behind two children, Ralph E. Boss, Jr. of Bradford, and Rachel E. Boss and her fiance, Justin Morgan of Westerly. He had one granddaughter, Ryleigh A. Boss of Westerly. He also leaves behind two brothers, Joseph E. Boss Sr. and his wife, Rebecca Boss, of Bradford and Dale Boss Sr. of Westerly, and three sisters, Christina M. Zurcher of Bradford, Janice L. Hughes of Pleasanton, Calif., and Faye "Tish" Piccolo of Westerly. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews, Joseph Jr., Felicia, Alex and Gabby Boss, Cassidy, Paul and Jolene Gardiner, Lauren Zurcher, Seth and Shane Piccolo, Jennifer-Jean, Brooke, Elizabeth and Dale Jr. Boss, and Jodi and Michael Lowery, and two great-nieces, Trinity and Arianna. He also leaves behind his longtime companion, Nancy Mulcahy.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly, RI 02891. Funeral Services and Burial will be private.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.

They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
