Ralph Coviello Obituary

Woodstock, Ga. - Ralph Matthew Coviello Sr., of Woodstock, Ga., formerly of Gales Ferry, died Friday, March 24, 2006.

Mr Coviello served proudly in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. As a submarine veteran, he honorably served during the Korean, World War II and Viet Nam war times. He was a member of the VFW post 9452 and the American Legion post 004. Mr Coviello also owned and operated Gino's Italian Restaurant on Pocquonock Road in Groton.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Coviello; three daughters, Debra Wood, of Glastonbury, Lee Ann Allen, of Portsmouth Va., and Robin Galloway, of Woodstock, Ga.; one son, Ralph Coviello Jr., of Glastonbury; and nine beloved grandchildren.

A Service will be held at 1 p.m. on April 22 at St Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church, Glastonbury.

Dear family and friends of Ralph,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, and having recently been informed, we offer our sincere condolences at Ralph´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS Catfish SS-339, USS Lionfish SS-298, USS Cobbler SS-334, USS Sea Leopard SS-483, USS Tusk SS-426 and USS Ethan Allen SSBN/SSN-608.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
To the family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).

I have fond memories of Mr. & Mrs. Coviello & Gino's Restaurant from when I was a teenager and a friend of Ralph's. My sympathy goes out to the whole Coviello Family.
