Randall Heath Obituary

Niantic - Randall "Randy" Heath of Niantic, beloved husband of Nancy Heath, passed away Jan. 14, 2025. He is now at rest and sleeping with the angels. Randy and Nancy spent 27 years loving and supporting one another. They were soulmates and best friends. Randy was born to Earl and Helen Heath July 23,1950, in Auburn, N.Y., where he grew up with his sister and three brothers.

As a boy in Upstate New York, he was fond of hunting and fishing becoming adept at both. He graduated from West High School in Auburn in 1968. Subsequently, Randy set out from his hometown and landed in South Florida. Over the next several years, he lived and worked in Deerfield Beach, Fla., Washington, D.C. and Queens, N.Y., before eventually settling down in Connecticut in the mid-70s.

Randy had a long career working at several auto dealerships in Southeastern Connecticut, primarily in the finance and insurance business. But there was so much more to the man. An impeccable dresser, he always cut a fine figure even in the most casual of circumstances. Everything always in its right place. An avid reader, he had a deep appreciation of Larry McMurtry and Cormac McCarthy in particular. Randy cherished the music of Bob Dylan, as well as the blues. Both remained touchstones for him and he took great pleasure in sharing his love of music with old friends and new. Nothing was better than a summer evening spent with Randy, on the back patio at the house in Crescent Beach, after a day on the sand at Hole in the Wall enjoying a cold one, listening to the likes of B.B. King. He was a quick-witted raconteur, a man of a million phrases, and could fill the room with his warmth and humor. If you had the pleasure of Randy's company you were the better for it.

More than anything though, Randy was devoted to his children. The ultimate example of a doting and selfless father who would stop at nothing to ensure that his children were cared for. He is survived by his daughter Khami Balliro; and three sons, Robert Heath, Matt Heath and Peter Heath. Furthermore, Randy is survived by his grandchildren, Jacyln and Jeffrey; along with his loving stepchildren, Aaron Hallquist and Amanda Hallquist. Randy is also survived by his siblings: Kim Heath, Susan Heath, Earl "Bubby" Heath and David Lapychak.

The family extends its gratitude to the staff at Bride Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Niantic for the exceptional care provided to Randy.
