Dear Jacqueline,

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Richard.
That tell you otherwise good courage.
In those moments the words are useless but only friendship and love of yours count.
Beyond the grief he will remember you as the happy moments spent together, his smile, his cheerfulness, his sense of humor.
We can not be here for the funeral, but we'll be there in spirit to accompany you and your children.
Our condolences to Belgium. Thierry, Natasha and Matheo
Jeanine, Daniel, Christelle and girls.

To the entire Rice family, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Dickie. Even though we were not family by blood he sure did treat our family as if we were. The joking and kidding while attending Downing family picnics or just a Saturday evening playing cribbage against him and Jack...will always be a fond memory for me.
Jackie,Richie, Curt and their families may your days ahead be filled with fond memories of your husband , father, and grandfather, with our deepest sympathy.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember so well babysitting for the boys when they were little in the Rice homestead on Dayton Place. Jackie, boys (now grown), and all the Rice siblings. From Cohanzie firehouse to all the other places our paths crossed, you are many memories of my life. It truly saddens me to see your loss.

Uncle Dick, I have many memories of you which will last forever. I remember you throwing me into the water at Waterford beach when I was little, (and yes I cried). I remember you with your horses. I can see you playing horseshoes at the family picnics along with many other memories. I am glad you are no longer in pain but sad that you are gone. You will be missed.

My earliest memory of Dick is coming down the stairs one morning and having someone pick me up,hug me and twirl me around the kitchen. I was so young when he entered the Air Force and left for Europe I didn't even remember him but I'm so grateful that my first memory is such a special one. Thanks for being such a great brother. Love you always.
