We met Rick at Pendleton. He sat at the same table as our grandmother. Always had a quick wit. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I will miss all the discussions we would have on the randomest topics. The table is too quiet without him. I hope you enjoy watching over us from above. You will be missed very much. To his family-our sympathy for your loss he spoke of you often with a smile.

Dear Rothholz Family,
I was saddened to read of Rich's passing and you're all in my thoughts & prayers. I will always be in awe of those who are so dedicated to volunteer at the Firehouse, putting themselves in harm's way for their community.
With my deepest sympathy for your loss,
Nance (Proud daughter of past Chesterfield Fire Chief, James Gartley & Nancy Mary Gartley, past Women's Auxillary)

I can't say goodbye. You're my brother. I can't imagine not picking up the phone to talk to you. Visiting you at the convalescent home. Encouraging you to never give up. When we almost lost you a few years ago we prayed so hard you wouldn't leave us, everyone did and you lived. And now you're gone. I can only hope you're with mom and dad. I hope this is true. I will always remember all the fun times, playing cards, holidays most of all family together. I know you were so proud of your kids and grandkids I can't imagine not talking anymore. I feel like my heart is so broken I don't know what to do. I can only pray you're looking out for all of us with your dog Odie that you lost. I'll miss our arguments as well when you were so pigheaded. Sayings like "spendas" "boaten shoes". " opinions are like a..... Everyone's got one" "buckwheat ". Omg I will miss you so much. RIP Rick we love you

Such a gentle soul did Rick possess. The angels have added one of the best to their ranks. It is a comfort to all knowing you are guarding your loved ones now.

The fondest memories I always will have are the holidays! They were and always will be the times that he was well! He was not in pain or any discomfort. He could walk on his own two feet. We all would sit around the table for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc. It would be most of the family there at one table! And after we ate then the true fun would begin! We all would generally play cards the rest of the time. And I would laugh because if it were cards or a board game he would generally win! And he would have his usual sayings,"Knit Wit, Someone's gonna get it." But I truly loved that about him. He brought joy and laughter to the room! I love you Rick, we all do! I can't wait to see you and the rest of the family again.
