Russ Borden Obituary
He graduated from Montville High School, Class of 1965 and attended Mitchell College and Mohegan Community College.
He worked at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division, in the Naval Architecture Weight Engineering Department and was involved in designing and ballasting many of the 668s and TRIDENT class submarines.
Russ proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He met his soulmate, JoAnn, while proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force, and they were married Sept. 13, 1969.
Upon discharge from the military, Russ returned to Connecticut and Electric Boat, and he retired after 42 years of service in 2008. Upon retiring, Russ and Joann moved to Williamsburg, Va.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Todd Borden (Maggie) of Olvera, Spain, Tara Borden of Nyack, N.Y., and Seth Borden of West Greenwich, R.I.; grandson, Benjamin Borden of West Greenwich, R.I.; sisters, Janet Beving of Rockford, Ill., and Pamela Tashea (Thomas) of Griswold; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Christine and Henry Robert of Wilbraham, Mass.; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Craig Beving; and brother-in-law, Roger Beving.

Our heartfelt thanks to his case management team at Heartland Hospice and the staff at the Hospice House of Williamsburg.
Please pay an act of kindness forward to honor his memory. In keeping with Russ' wishes, he will be cremated, and his life will be celebrated in private.

So sorry for your loss JoAnn. My daughter Karen forwarded this to me. My Mitch died at 54 yrs old. I remarried Harold LaTour, and we have been married 26 yrs. We moved to Florida 8 yrs ago. When you lose your spouse, half of you goes with them. Be kind to yourself during your grief. Best wishes.

I rode to work with Russ in 1975 and 1975. It was a good time. We were invited to a summer picnic at your house in 1975. I always likes Russ and had a good relationship with him. Then I got transferred to another dept. He was a ger guy and I'll miss him. I rode to work with him and Aldo. What a trip.
