Sharon Feltser Obituary

Lee, Mass. - Sharon (Sherb) Feltser passed peacefully Feb. 7, 2024, at age 82. Sharon was born in Pittsfield, Mass., May 5, 1941, to Paul and Rose Sandrew. After graduating from Longmeadow High School, Sharon attended Mitchell College in New London, where she was later honored as a distinguished alumna. Sharon also earned an academic scholarship to New York University where she received a Bachelor of Science in English and literature. While living in New London, Sharon met Michael Sherb. Upon graduating from college, Sharon married Michael, and they resided in Waterford. Together they shared three children and seven grandchildren. After college, Sharon taught English at New London High School, a profession she cherished. To this day, Sharon's students reminisce about their time spent in her classroom. Over the course of her life, Sharon held administrative and management positions in the insurance and medical fields. Sharon always had a fun project in the works. Whether it be a business idea, a novel, a garden, or a new design for her home, she was always immersed in her ventures. She participated in a variety of sports throughout her adult life including tennis, running, skeet shooting and croquet. Sharon also enjoyed attending races at Saratoga Springs where she would bet on her favorite horses and wear one of her elegant hats. She relished spending time with family and friends and hosting fabulous dinner parties. Sharon will be remembered for her energy, intelligence, creativity, style and quick wit.

Sharon is survived by her three children, Matthew Sherb, Shelley Lawrence and Gabrielle Evers. She is also the proud grandmother of Oliver, Edward, and Arlo Sherb; Olivia and Jake Lawrence; Cooper and Madeleine Evers. Sharon is the sister of Stuart Sandrew and Barry Sandrew; and honorary sister of Phyllis Sandrew. She is survived by her partner of many years, Joseph Furgal. She is also survived by Michael Sherb, with whom she remained very close. Sharon is predeceased by her husband Michael Feltser of Monterey, Mass. To Sharon's beloved family and friends, Sharon's memory will live on in her spirit and her humor.

A service was held at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery in Pittsfield Friday, Feb. 9.
