Old Lyme - Stephanie C. Bailey, 84, a longtime resident of Old Lyme, died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016.

Born on Oct. 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Kapis) Bibik.

She was the loving wife of Nelson "Nick" Bailey for 63 years. She lived a life full of love, laughter and happiness and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband Nick, she is survived by three sons, Curtis Bailey, Keith Bailey and wife, Lynne, and Scott Bailey and wife, Michele; two daughters, Tammy Bailey Horne and husband, Larry, and Toni Bailey; two grandsons, Anthony Bailey and Nicolas Horne; sister, Frances Bibik; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Raymond Bibik, and her sister, Claire Fagerquist.

The Woyasz & Son Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Nick and family,
I'm so sad to find out that "Steve" has passed away. I was sitting here (8-18-17) thinking about my Mother and Father and missing them and wondered to myself how "Nick and Steve" were doing. Since my parents have been gone close to six years now, there was no one left to inform me about this sad day. My mother and father had so many years of good memories with their dear friends "Nick and Steve". My father and Nick have been the best of friends since high school and had many fun evenings playing poker at each other's homes...with the wives, of course:).

Since the time I was little in the early 60s, Nick and Steve were at just about every picnic my mother and father ever had. I have a pair of pretty hoop earrings Steve bought for my mother back in the 80s just in friendship. So many good times...fortunately I have some of them on home video. I never asked my parents how Steffi came to be called Steve, but that was the name I knew her by in the old days. Sad. My condolences to the whole family, with love.
