Thomas Ramage Obituary

Old Saybrook - Thomas Edward "Thom" Ramage, 81, of Old Saybrook, died peacefully at home Sunday, Mar 31, 2024. He was born Aug. 16, 1942, to George and Ruth Ramage in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Thom was an avid rock climber in his youth, and always loved car racing, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and a well-timed dad joke. (Though, he preferred a poorly timed dad joke even better!) Singing always played a large role in his life, from his a capella group in his youth, through many years as a bass in his church choir. Thom always had strong faith, which lead to his service as a Deacon. He also held onto his love for all things Pittsburgh, especially the Steelers, even after moving to New England. Thom was a pipefitter when he left Pittsburgh, joining the steamfitter's union once in Connecticut. He helped retire the Connecticut Yankee power plant and then retired from Millstone, himself, an accomplished steamfitter and welder.

He is survived by his wife Donna; his children: Chris, Tim, Susan and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Gabrielle, Theodore, Zella and Valencia; his brother Dan; niece Tory; and dear friend Laurie. Thom was predeceased by his parents; and sister Linda.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the American Legion, 80 Essex Road, Old Saybrook. Come share your favorite memories. Please wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt in honor of Thom. Contact the family for any additional details.
