Zelda Yeoman Obituary

Zelda Yeoman (nee Clark) July 7, 1933 - January 27, 2013 On Jan. 27, 2013, Zelda Dorothie Yeoman ended her brave battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Tom Yeoman and her three daughters: Kathleen Bell (Dave), Nancy Trudel (Ray) and Fiona Yeoman (Glen Biggar) and four grandchildren (Samantha and Christopher, Maya and Owen). She is predeceased by her father and mother, and leaves her brother Garry, and sisters Sheilah and Colleen.

A graduate of the 1955 class of the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing, Zelda worked in Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton, Australia and Calgary as a nurse. She met and married Tom Yeoman in 1966 and worked until her first daughter was born in 1968. She was an active parishioner, choir member, reader and volunteer for St. Stephen's Anglican Church. She served on many boards and committees for her community, earning a 25-year milestone with the Alberta Heart Foundation and a lifetime achievement award for blood donor contribution. She was a tireless coordinator and canvasser for door to door campaigns for many charities.

Our thanks to the many medical teams who provided such excellent care - and in particular, the amazing team at Carewest Sarcee Hospice. We also thank the caring team at the Copeman Healthcare Centre, who advocated for Zelda's immediate care.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Stephen's Anglican Church - 1121 14 Ave SW, Calgary. To contact the family, please use [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Canadian Cancer Society www.cancer.ca, The Alberta Heart Foundation www.heartandstroke.ab.ca, Sarcee Carewest Hospice www.carewest.ca or St. Stephen's Anglican Church www.ststephenscalgary.org.

Dar Tom and family, Zelda was always my adventurous and friendly older cousin. She was kind of like a hero to me and I'm so sad for all of you, and to her sisters and brother, too. Deep regrets and find memories. Linda from California
