1936 - 2017
Barbara Banke Arteaga died peacefully in her sleep after battling dementia for many years. She was born June 6, 1936 to Alfred and Sarah Banke in Los Angeles, CA, but lived most of her young life in Blythe, CA. She graduated from Palo Verde High School. She married Joe Arteaga on August 11, 1956. Together they managed Karl's Shoe Store in downtown Indio. She was briefly married to Genero Arseo after Joe passed. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; Joe and Genero, and her sister, Emily Banke. She is survived by her brother Freddie Banke, and her two sisters: Anita Mussel and Anna Frahm; her three children, David Arteaga (Lori), Diana Cinatl (Darrell), and Gilbert Arteaga (Linda), along with her two grandsons: John Cinatl and Scott Cinatl. The family is comforted in knowing that she is with dad.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 17th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Indio; starting with viewing 10am - 11am; Rosary at 11am and Mass at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Coachella Valley Cemetery.
FitzHenry-Wiefels has been entrusted with arrangements.

David and Family , I knew your Mom for many years . My parents took us to the shoe store to buy our shoes . She also shopped at Ralph's in Indio where I worked. She was a kind and a Lady in all respect .
