Charles Martin Obituary
He was born Dec. 26, 1936 to Charles E. and Ethel N. Martin in Los Angeles. On June 26, 1955, he married Ruth S. Martin in Palm Springs.
He was a supervisor for GTE for 33 years and was a member of the Elks Lodge and Los
Compadres of Palm Springs.
Survivors include two sons, William "Billy" (Laura) Martin of Morongo Valley, David "Dave" (Michelle) Martin of Palm Springs; a daughter, Jeanie (David) Kieley-Chavez of Claremont; 12 grandchildren; and his mother, Naomi "Jackie" Martin of Cathedral City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, who passed away in 2005.
At his request there will be no memorial service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wiefels Palm Springs Mortuary. (760) 327-1257.

We have such fond memories of the good times that we have all spent together. We loved them both so much! Both Ruth and Chuck were always there to see us thru the good times and the bad and it is hard for us to believe that they will not be there anymore. We will miss so much having them in our lives. We had not even gotten over the loss of Ruthie and now Chuck is also gone. Our thoughts and prayers are will all of you.

Chuck and Ruth go way back to my days at PSHS.. they were both in my class and we shared so many memories and fun times in both high school, as young married couples and as "older" adults. I will miss them both. love to Jackie, Jeannie and boys.

Speaking for myself and my family, we appreciated their friendship, loyalty and the business relationship we had with both Charles and his wife Ruth, for at least 30-35 years. It will always be sad to see past generations pass into the history of this valley, knowing as always time waits for no one, time goes forward and so must we.
