Dorothy McGuire Obituary
Passed away peacefully on December 13, 2020. Dorothy "Dottie" is preceded in death by her husband O.Bernard "Picy", son-in-laws Stephen Morse, William Lynch and Grandson Liam Morse. Also preceded by parents George and Margaret Donovan, brothers John Frederick, Dick (Eileen), John (Ellie), Jerry (Maurna) and sisters Ruth (Ken) Stewart, Virginia, Helen (Jack Leaf) (Ray Haun), Jean (Ken) Hoskinson and Mary (Jack) Quigley, and beloved in-laws. Dottie is survived by children Kevin (Pamela), Tim (Teri), Pat (MaryKay), Nora, Dennis (Kathryn), Bridget Morse, Matthew and Mary Lynch; also 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was born on June 20, 1925 to George and Margaret Donovan. She was a lifetime resident of St. Paul and very proud of her family's history in Minnesota. Family meant everything to Dottie and nothing made her happier than having them gather together at the family home, on Lake Carlos, in Alexandria. She had an open door policy, "Everyone is welcome, we can always find room" She had such a great sense of humor and could laugh with all ages. Dottie attended St. Mark's grade school and Derham Hall High school and was a strong supporter of Catholic education. Dottie also supported and volunteered with many organizations including: St. Marks, St.Thomas Academy, Derham Hall, The Sisters of St. Joseph and ARC. Due to COVID-19, a Service and Celebration of Dottie's wonderful life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The ARC Minnesota or Cretin-Derham Hall High School.
