Earl Greenburg Obituary

Palm Springs humanitarian Earl Greenburg, age 61, passed away on February 1, 2008 at Eisenhower Medical Center. Greenburg\\\'s charitable foundation was well regarded for its contributions to Coachella Valley organizations including Desert AIDS Project, The Stroke Activity Center, Barbara Sinatra Children\\\'s Center, Angel View Crippled Children\\\'s Foundation, Shelter from the Storm, AIDS Assistance Program, Desert Cancer Society, Act for MS, American Heart Association, Eisenhower Medical Center, Well in the Desert. Other charities that benefit from the Greenburg Family Foundation include Project New Hope, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, AIDS Project Los Angeles, and Cure Autism Now. Greenburg was the former head of NBC Daytime, former president of Home Shopping Network Entertainment, former Chairman of the Board for the Electronic Retailing Association and an Emmy Award-winning producer. He was a founding partner of Transactional Marketing Partners in Santa Monica where he served as Chairman. He was also CEO of Total Marketing Partners in Palm Springs. Greenburg served as the Chairman of the Palm Springs International Film Festival from 2004 to present. Earl is survived by his life partner, David Peet; his son, Ari Greenburg and his wife Andrea; daughter, Meredith and her life partner Barbara Donner; and daughter Kathryn Claire, as well as grandchildren, Tyler, Avery, Hunter and Ryan. He is also survived by his brother, Shelly Greenburg and his wife Lois; and brother, Dr. Jon Morris and his wife Laura. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Greenburg Family Foundation to further Earl\\\'s philanthropic legacy. Donations can be sent to: The Greenburg Family Foundation, 125 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Suite 203, Palm Springs, CA 92262. Services were scheduled for Monday, February 4, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Temple Isaiah, which is located at 332 W. Alejo in Palm Springs. The family received guests immediately afterward at the home of Jim and Jackie Lee Houston.
