James E. Bellamy
June 12, 1932-May 18, 2021- Loving father and Papa, James Ernest Bellamy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Born in Victoria, BC, Canada, James moved to California to attend the University of Southern California. He loved this country, and was proud to become a U.S. citizen. He began his career in international business as a mailroom clerk with Balfour Guthrie & Co. He constantly strived to do better, and through hard work, he was promoted many times, eventually becoming president of the company. After Balfour Guthrie, he became a partner in Ferrostaal Metals, and eventually started his own import/export business, Bellamy International. He was a leader in business who was known as a shrewd dealmaker. James travelled extensively throughout his life, visiting numerous countries, (more than 92 by his count.) He was an avid reader, interested in world affairs, and enjoyed watching USC Trojan football, the LA Dodgers, and hockey. Earlier in his life he enjoyed skiing, golf, and was an avid runner. He was proud to run a leg of the Olympic Torch Relay in 1984. James was a generous man with a kind heart, who was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda. He is survived by his 2 children & their spouses, and 4 grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
