John "Mogo" Mogolis

John "Mogo" Mogolis of Palm Desert, California, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, surrounded by his family. John was born Jan. 28, 1971, to Rika and Gary Mogolis. From that day forward, he was the definition of a "mama's boy." John was raised by beautiful Flathead Lake in Bigfork, Montana. After graduating from Bigfork High School, where he was an honor student and standout athlete in three sports, he ventured onto the University of Montana where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. John was always and forever extremely proud to be a Montana Boy. John first and foremost was an infinitely dedicated and loving husband to his soul mate and the love of his life of 17 years, Julie. John had many accomplishments throughout his life, however, he was most proud of being a dad to his son Gunnar. John was and always will be Gunnar's biggest fan. He loved and cherished his little boy and could not have been more proud. Those who had the pleasure of being part of John's life quickly learned about his passion for his family, his friends, his dog Tuesday, the University of Montana Grizzlies and his beloved Michigan Wolverines. John's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of the many people whom he touched with his gentle soul, his electric smile, his magnetic personality and his gift for making others laugh. John was preceded in death by his grandfather, Governor J. Hugo Aronson; his grandmothers, Rose Aronson and Elsie Jones; and his many treasured furry friends. Those of us who will be reunited with John when we are called home are his wife, Julie; his son, Gunnar; his stepson, Lt. Tony Garcia (Jennifer); his "mama," Rika; his stepfather, Frank Drown; his father, Gary; his sister, Joani (Michelle); and all of his loyal and amazing friends.
