Rancho Mirage - Kendall Reese Jones peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his home in Rancho Mirage, California. Ken was born in Los Angles, CA on December 28, 1919 and lived a bountiful 99 years until he passed away of natural causes. Ken spent his early years in Glendale, CA. achieving many athletic awards at Hoover High School for his exceptional Athletic strengths. His favorite sports were Football, Basketball and especially Baseball. In his senior year of High School 1938, the Chamber of Commerce of Glendale gave Ken the "All Around" outstanding athlete award for the year. After High School, Ken enrolled at USC on a Baseball scholarship. During his time at USC Ken had a blind date with a gorgeous blonde who later became his wife on March 20, 1942. On March 20, 2019, along with their 4 children, they celebrated together their 77th wedding anniversary. Ken spent 3 years at USC until the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and the beginning of WWII. Leaving USC, Ken went to work at Lockheed and worked there until he was drafted into the Army Air Corp. in Jan 1943. Ken spent his time in the Air Corp. training in the US until his discharge in December 12, 1945 at the age of 25. In 1946 Ken went to work at his Uncle's (Reese Thomas) Company, Green Spot Inc., that manufactured Fruit Juice drink concentrates, that sold to the Dairy industry throughout the USA. In 1963 Ken's uncle retired and Ken became President of Green Spot Inc. By this time Green Spot had become the leading supplier of quality Fruit Juice Drink concentrates to the Dairy industry in the USA. Also, the business had grown with Green Spot license Franchise Bottlers throughout South East Asia, South America (including Cuba) and Europe. In 1981 Green Spot built a 100,000 sq. ft. plant in Claremont, CA (the first in the USA) exclusively for the manufacturing of aseptic Fruit Juice and Fruit drink brix boxes for retail sales. Ken retired from Green Spot in 1992 and moved to The Springs Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA where he enjoyed golfing, tennis and being involved in the Homeowners association. Ken was a devoted Christian and a strong Family man. Throughout his adult life Ken was very involved with the activities of his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren's lives. Ken's favorite day of the Year was New Years Day. For 40 straight years, Ken did not miss attending the pageantry of the Pasadena Rose Parade on Orange Grove boulevard and following up the day with going to the Rose Bowl game. He loved the atmosphere of the day and being part of the start of a new Year. Ken is survived by his wife of 77 years, Wendy Jones, four children (Garald, Wiley, Kendra and Karol), seven grandchildren (Lance, Kambria, Shauna, Rian, Nick, Chad and Christopher), five grandchildren in-laws (Kerni, Cristen, Megan, Addie and Colin), twelve Great grandchildren (Rially, Dillon, Louie, Lily, Mia, Lucas, Karissa, McKenzie, Landon, Connor, Sienna, Beckham).
