Lawrence Freid Obituary

Lawrence Freid, 82, of Palm Desert, Calif. passed away peacefully on October 6, 2010 in his home. Larry was born on May 8, 1928. He served as a Medical Corpsman in the U.S. Navy. He grew up in St. Paul, Minn. and moved to Southern California in the 1950's. He worked as an Engineer and Test Lab Director at Hughes Aircraft for over 35 years. Larry was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit and witty sense of humor. He was a good man. His son Jeffrey Freid precedes him in death. Survived by his wife, Sylvia Freid; daughter and son-in-law Marla and Sheldon Zaslansky; grandchildren, Nicole Maisner and Hannah Zaslansky. Services will be held at Mount Sinai in Burbank, Calif. at 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Alzheimer's Association.
