Marian Stahl Obituary

Marian Ricono DuBois Stahl, 89, went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2011 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. She was a native of Tacoma, Wash. until retirement when she moved to Palm Springs, Calif., with her loving husband, Max (Mick) R. DuBois. She was born in 1922 to Italian immigrants, George and Caroline Ricono and graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma in 1941. She worked at Stadium High as a secretary after graduation until she married Mick, also a '41 Stadium graduate. Marian and Mick had three daughters. Marian was a devoted mother and after the children started school, she worked as an accountant clerk for the Pierce County Auditor and later for the Pierce County Parks and Recreation Dept. retiring after twenty years. Marian was an athlete having played on basketball teams as well as on state championship fastpitch softball teams in 1945 and '46. She became an avid golfer winning tournaments at Allenmore and Fircrest Golf courses in Tacoma as well as 7 Lakes Golf and Country Club in Palm Springs. After almost forty years of marriage, she lost Mick to cancer and later married Marvin Stahl. When Marvin passed away, she lived with her sister, Beverly Rogers at Morningside in Rancho Mirage. After losing her sister Beverly in 2007, Marian, at the age of 85, financed the building of an orphanage in Bali, Indonesia, called My Father's Home, becoming an inspiration to many. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen DuBois, Kathryn (Clay) Stensrud, Kim (Brian) Boyer; five grandchildren, Joshua (Brooke) Luehmann, Angilyn (Luc) Button, Caleb (Jo) Luehmann, Julie Boyer, Joel (Jeannie) Boyer; and three great grandchildren. Donations in memory of Marian can be made to help support the orphanage that Marian began: My Father's Home P.O. Box 738, Snohomish, Washington 98291 or online at myfathershome.net

Marian and Mick and their three lovely daughters were close neighbors to me and my family for ten years, and they were delightful friends. My deepest sympathy extends to Karen, Kathy and Kim and their respective families.

I'm so sorry. I had the good fortune to work with Marian while she was at Pierce County Parks. She was a wonderful lady. Hard working, dedicated, loyal, willing, and so much fun. Always looking to help me and others anyway she could. A real asset to the department. She spoke often and lovingly about her family. She was/is missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. God speed.

Kathy, Karen, Kim and family,
Although many years have passed, I still hold fond childhood memories of Marian(and Mick) in the brick home on Madison. ;-)
Remembering the good times, my thoughts are with you.
Debbie Luppino Smith and family. xoxo
